God in Creation

Isaiah 42:5-6 ESV

Thus says God, the Lord, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it: “I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations,

Job 12:7-10 ESV

“But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? 10 In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.

Psalm 104:24-25 ESV

24 O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. 25 Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great.

  2. According to Genesis 1: 31, God’s creation is what?
  3. What is the purpose(s) of God’s creations?
  4. Is God’s creation complex? How so or why not?

Reflection Questions:

  1. Have you taken time to examine God’s creation lately?
  2. Have you recently considered the magnitude and detail of God’s creation?
  3. As we learn more scientifically, Do you think that takes away from God? Why or Why not?
  4. If God brings order and goodness to the whole universe do you think He can do the same in your life?
  5. What keeps you from letting God bring order and goodness in your life?
  6. Challenge: Stop this week and take time to notice God’s creation around you and think about great God is.
