Who we are
Howdy,
We are excited you dropped by our website. We are a loving family of the Lord’s church striving to know Him and make Him known in our communities. We meet regularly on Sundays and Wednesday and have a variety of ministries and activities going on.
A little info about the Churches of Christ, We are a non-denominational group of churches who do not hold to human creeds preferring instead to let the Bible speak for itself and we stand on its authority as the divine revelation of God alone. We choose to simply wear Christ’s name as His Church. We typically hold to a conservative view of scripture not wanting to speak in areas the Bible is silent. We do this not out empty tradition but out of love and devotion to our Lord. We strive to be reverent to the Lord and His Word.
The churches of Christ are structured in a manner similar to that found in the early church in which each congregation is autonomous under its own eldership ( a group of men selected based on biblical qualifications to lead the local body) yet united to our fellow brothers and sisters under the Lordship of Christ.
What to expect
Should we be privileged to have you join us for a visit us at any one of our services we want to give you an idea of what to expect on your visit.
On Sunday mornings we have Bible classes at 10 am for all ages from cradle roll to adult. Our classes last about 45 minutes and then we all join together for worship. During that time we will be led in song, you will notice we sing without instrumental accompaniment. We also will partake of the Lord’s supper (commonly called communion) together. We take a small piece of cracker which represents Christ’s body and a small cup of grape juice which represents His blood. We do this each week to keep fresh in our minds the great love and sacrifice of our Lord for us. We will also be led in several prayers be various men of the congregation and our minister will deliver a message from the Word of God.
On Sunday evenings we meet at 5 in the auditorium and sing a few songs, as with the morning these songs are acapella, and are led in prayer and our minister will give a message from the Bible. Both services on Sunday are times of praising the Lord and hearing His Word, They are also great times of fellowship with the family of God.
On Wednesday evening we arrive at 7 pm and go straight to bible classes. We have an adult class in the auditorium and a class for 2yr-kindergarten as well 1st-12th-grade classes in the annex (building behind the auditorium from 4th st.)
We strive to always be available for questions and if you need any directions to classes simply ask and we will gladly assist in any way we can. We look forward to meeting and building relationships with you!
